Doors and Ghosts

When you create a painting, I imagine it’s somewhat like a child – something you gave birth to that will always have a special place in your heart. I forgot to have children, mind you, so I am no expert on the subject. Much like hearing praise for your child’s personality, or other positive attributes, when one of your paintings is accepted for an exhibit, it’s quite a thrill. I just found out today that this one has been accepted for the upcoming Secret Doors exhibit that will take place at the Stutz Artists Association gallery in downtown Indianapolis. I will update this as soon as I can find the date! This is one of my earlier paintings that came about as a result of putting colors on a canvas and letting it inform me. I called it Doors and Ghosts because I have opened and closed so many doors in my life, but there are still ghosts that pop in unexpectedly sometimes. And they’re not always unwelcome!
