I am so thrilled to be one of the contributing artists for this event, and I’m hoping to have completed two more pieces before the opening night. If you happen to be in Indianapolis, the Athenaeum is a very cool historic building and worth visiting in its own right. Rejuvenation Indy will have art there as well. Please come check it out. Edible Schoolyard is a fantastic program at First Line charter schools in New Orleans. The kids are involved in every level of planning and maintaining the gardens, and the food is prepared at their cafeterias, where young folks interested in the culinary arts can work with local chefs to prepare the foods they have grown and harvested. Their online auction is open for bidding, and there are some fantastic hand painted watering cans for bid, including one by yours truly. Check it out:

This is a very exciting exhibit that I am thrilled to be part of. Re-Generation Indy is a fantastic program that provides art opportunities to young people. I believe, and research has shown, that participating in art in any form is essential for maximum psychological and cognitive development of children, so that they can feel part of it, rather than just observing politely and quietly from a distance. I haven’t decided yet which pieces I will be showing in this exhibit, but if you happen to be in the Indianapolis area on April 7, please stop by The Athenaeum for the opening reception. There may even be some live music next door at the Rathskellar.
The Athenaeum is a historic building in downtown Indianapolis that was designed by the architectural firm Vonnegut (Bernard Vonnegut Sr. was Kurt Vonnegut Jr’s grandfather) and Bohn and is listed in the National Register of Historic places.

The Stutz Artists Association has once again included me in one of their fantastic exhibits. This one is called Secret Doors and was designed to make art more accessible and relevant to children. All of the works of art are displayed at the eye level of a child. This exhibit will take place through October at the Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery, on W. 10th St. in downtown Indianapolis. Check it out. This is the son of a friend of mine checking out my painting in the back ground: Doors and Ghosts. I had fun with little kids last night seeing how many ghosts they could find in the painting!
